Connections CSP Announces Leadership Changes

            WILMINGTON, Del. – January, 2020 – Wilmington, DE – Connections CSP Chief Operating Officer, William F. Northey, Ph.D., was recently chosen by the Board of Directors as the organization’s Interim CEO. Catherine Devaney McKay, Connections founder, President, and CEO for 30+ years, announced her retirement in October.  A clinician and educator, Dr. Northey has been active in the development of effective ways to improve the competence of staff in effective treatment strategies and evidence-based treatment models as well as developing and implementing innovative workforce development projects within the organization.

Northey praised McKay for her commitment to the people Connections has served and her stewardship of the organization for the past 34 years noting, “Cathy has dedicated her life to the service of people who often did not have a voice, and created an organization that not only made space for those voices, but allowed them to succeed in the communities where they lived. ,” he continued. “On behalf of the Board and the leadership team, we sincerely thank Cathy for her steadfast commitment  to the people we serve, our staff, and our communities and making Connections the preeminent human services organization it has become. We wish her all the best in her continued commitment to helping people navigate the challenges of life as a marriage and family therapist in  to private practice.”

Other changes include two new appointments to the Board:

Gloria Godson, principal of a dynamic consulting firm providing advisory services to clients in the organized electricity markets. Her expertise includes generation, transmission, demand response and distributed resources. Most recently, Godson was Vice President, PJM Strategy for Exelon Utilities. Her primary responsibilities were to provide leadership, executive oversight and strategic guidance for the development, alignment, advocacy and execution of transmission strategy for Exelon Utilities –Atlantic City Electric, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Commonwealth Edison Company, Delmarva, PECO and Pepco, which together, make up the nation’s largest electric and natural gas.

Utma Taku, of Barclaycard US, was introduced to Connections by current Board members Larry Drexler and Paul Pantano. She brings an extensive background in banking & finance,  operations and technology management, providing key insights across industries, business cycles and cultures.

Both Godson and Taku cited Connections’ powerful track record of working with people in need as the reason for wanting to be a part of the organization.
